Teaching is a very noble profession that shapes the character, caliber, and future of an individual. The whole art of teaching is only the art of awakening the natural curiosity of young minds for the purpose of satisfying it afterwards.

The GYLA faculty is composed of three types of experts and specialists: United Nations professionals, professors from academic institutions and practitioners from enterprises. The composition of the GYLA faculty corresponds to GYLA curriculum design and methodology, which focus on theoretical knowledge, methods and practices.

Liangrong Zu, PhD

Dr. Liangrong Zu is a specialist in corporate social responsibility (CSR), business ethics, sustainability science, social innovation, social entrepreneurship, Taoist leadership, etc. He has worked for the central government and the United Nations for over 30 years.

Dr. Zu holds PhD in business and management at the Nottingham University Business School in UK, and master degree in economics of education from Beijing Normal University.

Dr. Zu is the author of articles and books: “Responsible and Sustainable Business Development: Perspectives from Taoism’s Wisdom”; “Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Restructuring and Firm’s Performance: Empirical Evidence from China”; “Purpose-driven Leadership: from the Taoism’s Perspective” and co-editor of “Encyclopedia of CSR”; “The Future of the UN Sustainable Development Goals: Business Perspective of Global Development”, etc. Dr. Zu, in collaboration with the prestigious universities in the world and ILO, developed training packages for Business Schools on Labour Dimensions of CSR, and Sustainable Supply Chain Management.

Aung Thun Thet, PhD

Dr. Thet holds the position of Senior Advisor of the UN Resident Coordinator's Office in Yangon, Myanmar and is a visiting Professor, to Yangon Institute of Economics; Yangon University; National Defence College.

Previously, Dr. Thet held various positions including Principal Officer of the UN System Staff College, Turin, Italy (2000-2008), Senior Policy Advisor of UNICEF in New York, Dhaka and Bangkok (1992-2000).   He was Director-General, Ministry of Health (1989-1992) and Faculty Member, Institute of Economics, Yangon (1966-1989).

Dr. Thet has a Bachelor of Commerce (Yangon) & a Post-graduate Diploma in Management Studies (Brighton), M.Sc. Operations Research from University of Warwick and a Ph.D. in Management Sciences from University of Manchester.  Prof Aung is also a Post-doctoral Fellow from University of Marburg.

Changchui He, PhD

Dr. Changchui He obtained his PhD degree from Peking University and MSc degree from the Netherlands. Dr. He is an elected academician of the International Eurasia Academy of Sciences.

Dr. He once had worked in the academic research in satellite remote sensing and GIS applications in the Chinese Academy of Sciences for many years, and served as civil servant in the State Sciences and Technology Commission of China in the 1980s.

Dr. He worked in the United Nations for about 25 years, respectively, held Deputy Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Assistant Director-General and the FAO Regional Representative for Asia and the Pacific, Chief of the FAO Natural Resources and the Environment Service, and Director of Space Applications Section of the UN/ESCAP.

Dr. He published some 100 technical papers and policy reports as well as several monographs. He visited over 100 countries and regions; received a number of awards for his outstanding achievements and international services, including the First Class of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand and the Knight Grand Cross appointed by the King of Thailand in 2011, in recognition and appreciation of his significant contributions to agriculture and food security as well as sustainable development.

Dr. David Nabarro, Former Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Climate Change

In 1999 David moved into the United Nations system starting as an Executive Director at the World Health Organization responsible for the Roll Back Malaria Project and the Office of the Director-General. He was Special Representative of the WHO Director-General for Health Action in Crises (2002-2005).  

David is currently Co-Director (since mid-2019) and Chair of Global Health at the Institute of Global Health Innovation, Imperial College, London.  He is Strategic Director of the Swiss-based social enterprise 4SD (Skills Systems and Synergies for Sustainable Development), established in 2017, training and mentoring leaders for sustainable development. From March 2020, David is appointed Special Envoy of WHO Director General on COVID-19.

Mr. Jiyuan Wang used to be the Chief Staff Member of the Foreign Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Labor and Personnel, the Second Secretary and First Secretary of the Permanent Mission of China to Geneva; and the Deputy Director and Director of the International Organizations Division of the International Department of the Ministry of Labor. He joined the international civil servants in 1996 and served as the deputy director of the Beijing Office of the United Nations International Labour Organization and deputy representative in China; the deputy director of the East Asia Bureau of the ILO; the director of the National Bureau of Thailand, Cambodia and Laos of the ILO.

Mr. René Schmidpeter holds the Dr. Juergen Meyer Endowed Chair of International Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility at Cologne Business School (CBS), Germany. He is director of the Center for Advanced Sustainable Management (CASM) and general secretary of the World Institute for Sustainability and Ethics in Rising Economies (WISE) as well as Vice President of the Global Corporate Governance Institute (GCGI) and founder of M3TRIX a sustainable transformation company. He is a series editor for Springer’s CSR, Sustainability, Ethics and Governance books, a section editor of the Encyclopedia of Corporate Social Responsibility (ECSR) and an editor of the Dictionary of Corporate Social Responsibility (DCSR) as well as Editor- in-Chief of the International Journal of CSR (IJCSR - Springer).

His research and teaching activities focus on the management of Corporate Social Responsibility, international perspectives on CSR, Social Innovation and Sustainable Entrepreneurship as well as the relationship between business and society.

Samuel Idowu, PhD, MSc, FCIS, FRSA is a senior lecturer in Accounting and Corporate Social Responsibility at the Guildhall School of Business and Law, where he is currently the course leader for the Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability MSc and Advanced Diploma in Professional Development (ADPD) Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability.

Samuel has published over fifty articles in both professional and academic journals and contributed chapters in several edited books and is the Editor-in-Chief of three major global reference books by Springer – the Encyclopedia of Corporate Social Responsibility (ECSR), the Dictionary of Corporate Social Responsibility (DCSR) and the Encyclopaedia of Sustainable Management (ESM). He is also a series editor for Springer’s CSR, Sustainability, Ethics and Governance books. Samuel is an Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Corporate Social Responsibility and the American Journal of Economics and Business Administration.

Samuel has made a number of keynote speeches at international conferences and workshops and written the foreword to a number of leading books in the field of CSR and Sustainable Development. And he has examined on a few PhD theses in the UK, Australia, South Africa, the Netherlands and New Zealand.

Dr. Nat Clegg was born in the UK, today he lives in Italy, but his work takes him all over the world, where he leads in coaching and coaching psychology. Nat has a long track record in providing coaching and counselling services. He holds  a  Master’s  in  Coaching  Psychology  and  a  certificate  of  practice  in Hypno-Psychotherapy. His passion for the subject extends to his current research for his PhD on what the client brings to coaching relationship. Nat is also an experienced trainer and designs many training programmes that facilitate the transfer of learning through coaching support.

Nat personally supervises our coaching team to ensure that a high level of quality and protection is afforded to both the client and the coach alike. Nat is licensed to coach using the Richard Lewis LMR model of cross-cultural competences.

He has worked with many United Nations Agencies, providing coaching and the training of coaches as well pedagogical advice. Nat also provides training in leadership and management,

change and transition and specialises in team building and team development, where he is able to use his creative talents to design enjoyable retreats for whole teams that want to improve their performance, relationships or services.

Lenni George

Ms. Lenni George is a coach, facilitator, trainer and consultant, with over 25 years international experience in a wide range of subject areas relating to the Business Growth, leadership and the development of managers.

Lenni grew up between the UK and Cyprus and now lives in Italy, she has more than twenty years experience of facilitation, training organisational design and capacity development. In the past, Lenni worked for the United Nations on a range of issues supporting the Secretary General's Reform process.

Lenni has provided coaching for more than 20 years, she also trains new coaches and is currently providing the training of coaches in the United Nations system in Afghanistan, Curaçao, Ethiopia and Lebanon. She provides coaching for many private sector businesses.

Lenni has worked in more than 50 countries and with more than 170 nationalities. She has an award from Labour Department of the Hong Kong Government for her contribution to training the staff of the Youth Employment Service and an award from the Kosovo for her contribution to peace and stability in the region.

Ms. Jellie Molino

As a legal consultant specializing in project management, environmental law, corporate social responsibility, and community development, Jellie M. Molino uses her experience as former Vice President for Resource Generation and External Affairs and General Counsel at Batangas State University to review past and existing projects and policies for the Taal Lake Aquaculture Alliance, Incorporated, (TLAAI) and the Department of Science and Technology Region IV-A (DOST), ensuring that they are legally compliant to various rules and regulations of the government while developing strategies to implement the organizations’ goals. While in the U.S., Molino served as a fellow at the Environmental Law Institute in Washington, DC, where she conducted a case study on the lessons learned on aquaculture co-management under the writ of continuing mandamus in Taal Lake, Batangas. She also analyzed the decisions of the Supreme Court of the Philippines on petitions for writ of kalikasan from 2010 to 2014. Now returned to the Philippines, Molino is focusing her work on increasing the awareness and commitment of the communities surrounding Taal Lake in Batangas on their responsibility to protect the environment that provides them with sustainable livelihood.
